Couturier Mart Visser presented his 50th Haute Couture collection in the fall of 2017. For 25 years, the designer has dressed Dutch women, and this milestone provided the perfect occasion to open a temporary museum with a concept store in Amsterdam. With 'Beyond Context', Mart Visser showcased the ultimate synergy between his three disciplines: Haute Couture, prêt-à-porter, and Artwork. The exhibition was open from October 17 to November 19, 2017.

In the heart of Amsterdam, monumental canal houses were transformed into a temporary museum. Raw, stripped-back spaces contrasted with stately period rooms, creating a new and ideal setting for presenting fashion and art. Mart Visser positioned himself outside his usual context, allowing visitors to take a journey through his creative mind. Light, movement, imagery, and music combined to create an immersive experience.
